All went smoothly, until, upon reaching the Herst driveway, it became clear that its builder had
not made allowance for succahs, and we performed a circuit of some of Battery Point’s
narrowest streets so that we would end up parking on the correct side of the road outside
Moshe’s house.
At the junction of Hampden Road, Francis and South Streets, we met a lady who, somewhat
unwisely we thought, tried to turn into Francis Street as we were coming out of it. Traffic ground
to a halt, the lady either refused to, or was not capable of, backing up, a third car coming up
Hampden Road got mixed in, and Battery Point, possible for the first time in it’s long history,
experienced gridlock.
Fortunately, however, calm heads prevailed, at least in the cabin of the Toyota, and after some
impressive to and fro by Moshe, order was restored on the streets of Battery Point.  All ended
well, the Succah was duly assembled, wind damaged, re-assembled, and performed its
intended function perfectly.
