Our annual Hanukkah picnic is happening this year on the fifth day of the festival at Site 9 in the Waterworks Reserve. Site 9 is one of the Reserve’s largest areas for get-togethers, located about 900 metres from the entrance off Waterworks Rd, Dynnyrne.
Everyone in the community of whatever age is invited to come along, hopefully bask in sunshine, and enjoy each others’ company at the end of a busy year. We will also be joined by visiting Modern Orthodox Rabbi Yaron Gottlieb.
Soft drinks and disposable plates and cutlery will be provided, but please bring a vegetarian or fish dish with you for all to share.
Hanukkah treats like latkes, jam doughnuts and other oily delights are especially welcome, and we should even be able to barbecue latkes freshly if you prefer to bring a latke mix.
And don’t forget your Hanukkah menorahs and dreidels, so that we can light candles, sing festival songs, and have some yomtov fun together.
