This tour of Hobart Synagogue, which was opened in 1845 and is the oldest still in use for Jewish worship anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere, will be led by one of the congregation's experienced volunteer guides.
Highlights include the benches assigned for use by convicts in the synagogue's early years, the original ornate Victorian chandelier, the upstairs women's gallery, and many others.
If you would like to join this tour, you must apply beforehand. It's important for us to know numbers in advance so that our volunteer guides can look after tour groups properly. Please read our tour information page, from which you can complete a form indicating you would like to join this tour.
Note, it is not possible to join an existing school tour.
