The congregation participated in Mazon Australia‘s Mazon Bag appeal, where 14 synagogues across Australia collected donation bags for people in need between Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot.

We donated 10 Mazon bags to Colony 47, and received a letter of thanks for this important effort:

In our program we support people who are experiencing chronic homelessness with high and often complex needs. Your donation of food is very much appreciated and will be provided to those in need. We often provide non-perishable food such as what you have donated, toiletries and clothing to those that we support and they are very appreciative of this help.
